Star Crochet Stitch Free Pattern


Abbreviations:
ch = chain
dc = double crochet
Notes:
You need two colors yarn, in this case we use green and fuschia color.
Make sure to always have your 40 chains.
Instructions:
Ch40
Row 1: with green color yarn, ch2 (count as first dc), 1dc on 4th ch from hook, 1dc on each of next 38 sts.
Row 2: ch2 (count as first dc), 1dc on each of next 3dc, *ch10, 4dc, repeat from* finish with 4dc
Row 3: change to fuschia color yarn and work: ch2 (count as first dc), 1dc on each of next 2dc, ch10, *skip one dc, 2dc on next dc, 1dc on next dc, 1dc on next dc, 2dc on next dc, ch10, skip one dc, 1dc on next dc, 1dc on next dc, ch10, repeat fom* three times more, skip one dc, 1dc on next 3dc.
Row 4: change to green color yarn and work: ch2 (count as first dc), 1dc on next dc, 2dc on next dc, ch10, *2dc on next dc, 2dc on next dc, ch10, skip one dc, 1dc on each of next 4dc, ch10, repeat from* three times more, 2dc on next dc, 1dc on each of next 2dc.
Row 5: change to fuschia color yarn and work: ch2 (count as first dc), 1dc on each of next 2dc, ch10, skip one dc, *skip one dc, 1dc on next dc, 1dc on next dc, ch10, skip one dc, 2dc on next dc, 1dc on next dc, 1dc on next dc, 2dc on next dc, ch10, repeat from* three times more, skip one dc, 1dc on each of next 3dc.
Row 6: change to green color yarn and work: ch2 (count as first dc), 1dc on each of next 3dc, ch10, *skip one dc, 1dc on each of next 4dc, ch10, skip one dc, 2dc on next dc, 2d on next dc, repeat from* three times more, 1dc on each of next 4dc.
Row 7: change to fuschia color yarn and work: ch2 (count as first dc), 1dc on each of next 2dc, ch10, *skip one dc, 2dc on next dc, 1dc on next dc, 1 dc on next dc, 2dc on next dc, ch10, skip one dc, 1dc on next dc, 1 dc on next dc, repeat from* three times more, skip one dc, 1dc on each of next 3dc.
Repeat from row 4 to 7.


Stars Assembly (This is a demonstration on a small piece)
1 – Final form of the crocheting piece with loops ready to assembly (picture 1)
2 – Cross loops on row 1 as you see on (picture 2). This is just a sample of a small part, if your piece is bigger, cross all loops across your piece.

3 – Introduce loops from row 2 and 3, one inside another, on both sides (picture 3 and 4)
4 – Loops that are on the sides, initially works along, introduce one inside another from row 1, 2 and 3 (picture 5)
5 - Start crossing loops on row 3 as you see on (picture 6)
6 – Repeat step 3 and 4 (picture 7)

  2. Hi! Do you have a chart for this pattern? When I follow the instructions above I just end up with a heap of long loops that do t connect to the rest of the work. Not sure where I'm going wrong but I find charts easier to read ��

    3. Fantastic looking stitch which I'll be attempting soon. Thank you for creating a free written pattern. Not sure why Casa is asking you why you directed to a paid pattern when she/he's asking for something that's beyond the scope of a free written pattern. Imo charts, video how-to, etc that's accompanying a free written pattern should be paid because they take extra time and work to create.
